1.1 Routes for Good is a web-based enterprise providing independent consultancy services on projects of community-based tourism, connecting local tour guides and their communities with travelers who wish to live an authentic and completely personalized experience with a positive impact, ensuring that 100% of the traveler’s money will stay in the local economy.
1.2 Routes for Good offers small-group trips of up to 6 persons on specific dates, as well as customized private trips of either individuals or larger groups, organized on an ad hoc basis depending their availability and particular travel needs. Booking process, payment terms and cancellation policy for those two types of trips may differentiate, in accordance with the following Terms & Conditions.
1.3 To this end, for accommodation, meals, tours and other travel-related services, the traveler contracts directly with the local hosts, either physical persons or legal entities, who are independent contractors and not employees or providers of Routes for Good. Thus, the latter shall not be held liable for the formers’ acts and/or omissions.
1.4 It is explicitly declared that Routes for Good does not act on behalf of, or serve as agent of, or otherwise co-operate with the local hosts and is not and shall not be deemed as a travel agent or intermediary or by any other means contractual party of the end agreement between the traveler and the local hosts.
2.1 At the time of traveling, all travelers shall be more than the minimum age limit provided by the travel program they want to participate in. Those under this age limit shall be accompanied by their legal guardian or a lawful representative of the latter, who will be the only responsible for their daily care.
2.2 There is no maximum age limit, nevertheless trips can be physically demanding and travelers must ensure they are fit enough to participate. Where necessary, mandatory health requirements will be released to travelers well before the departure date. The travelers are solely liable for meeting the health requirements, having taken appropriate medical advice on this regard.
2.3 Participating in an organized group trip presupposes a respective social behavior and understanding towards the co-travelers and the rest parties involved in its implementation. Therefore, it is mandatory for the travelers to fully comply with the travel program terms and the guides’ instructions as well as for their timely arrival at the meeting points for the various services of the program (flights, transfers, guided tours, meals, etc.).
2.4 The travelers shall also acknowledge that Routes for good activates in less developed destinations, where unprecedented local circumstances or events, such as weather or road conditions or any other conditions of an operational nature, may change the itinerary or the type of activities contemplated. Although Routes for good will exhaust all means to comply with the timetable and the itinerary of the trip, it is expected from the traveler to be flexible to allow alternatives where necessary. Where such changes are obligatory for the safety, comfort and convenience of the travelers, no refund is payable to the latters.
2.5 Should the traveler face a particular health issue (including pregnancy) or food allergy, he/she must immediately notify Routes for good. It lies on the latter’s sole discretion to request medical evidence proving the traveler’s capability to participate in the trip. In any case, the traveler is the sole responsible for anything that might occur during the trip affecting his health issue.
3.1 The booking process for group trips commences with the release of the trip project and ends up with the lapse of the deadline provided therein. The number of available unreserved seats shall be also displayed in the said announcement, for the specific seats to be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis until the number of seats is exhausted.
3.2 The traveler is required to send an email to [email protected] or to fill the respective online form, well within the timeline posed by Routes for good.
3.3 When the number of available seats is reached, Routes for good will release an official email to all travelers, confirming the realization of the trip and their participation therein.
3.4 Once the traveler will confirm his participation in the trip, detailed guidance is released by Routes for good, including advice for preparation and instructions on payment process.
3.5 In any case where minimum numbers are not reached within the deadline set by Routes for good, the latter will notify the travelers as soon as applicable for the potential of making the trip but with less participants and revised payment terms or for its cancellation.
4.1 For group trips, upon confirmation of the traveler’s booking, the participant shall pay in advance a) an administration fee to Routes for good via transfer to its bank account and b) 30% of the total cost of the trip directly to the local tour guide via WorldRemit or Western Union. The remaining balance is payable directly to the tour guide once reaching the destination, unless otherwise provided by the package specifications.
4.2 For private trips, after planning the trip and agreeing on the price and all the relevant formalities, 30 days before the departure, the participant shall pay in advance a) an administration fee to Routes for good via transfer to its bank account and b) 30% of the total cost of the trip directly to the local tour guide via WorldRemit or Western Union. The remaining balance is payable directly to the tour guide once reaching the destination, unless otherwise provided by the package specifications.
5.1 For group trips, any cancellation within the last 45 days prior to the departure date will result in non-refund of the advance payment of 30% of the trip cost, unless otherwise provided by other providers with stricter cancellation policies (i.e. internal airflights etc). In this case, Routes for good deserves the right to claim the whole trip cost in view of the smooth conclusion of the trip for the rest of participants. Should the traveler decide, during the trip, to leave earlier the group, before the official end date of the trip, he/she will be not be entitled to any refund or remuneration. The administration fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
5.2 For private groups, any cancellation within the last 21 days prior to the departure date will result in non-refund of the advance payment of 30% of the trip cost, while any cancellation within the last 72 hours prior to departure date will result in full repayment of the whole trip cost. Should the traveler decide, during the trip, to leave earlier the group, before the official end date of the trip, he/she will be not be entitled to any refund or remuneration. The administration fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
6.1 The traveler shall hold a valid passport for 6 months beyond the duration of the trip.
6.2 The traveler is the sole responsible to apply for and obtain the necessary visas, permits and certificates for the destination country
6.3 Routes for good shall not be held liable for the traveler’s failure to meet the entry prerequisites of the country to visit.
6.4 Should the traveler fail to obtain the correct and valid passport, visa, and rest of paperwork for the trip, his participation will be cancelled.
Travel insurance is mandatory for all travelers and should be taken out at the time of booking. Your travel insurance must provide cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses and emergency repatriation. We also strongly recommend it covers cancellation, curtailment, personal liability and loss of luggage and personal effects. For any further trip within the scheduled program for which the said insurance will not be enough, the traveler shall issue an extra insurance to be adequately covered bearing any additional cost.
8.1 Although Routes for good screens and assesses with the outmost due diligence all the hosts and independent contractors activating in the destination country, including their service provided, the traveler understands hereby that Routes for good does not control the quality, timing, legality, or any other aspect whatsoever of the experience delivered by the host, nor of the integrity, responsibility or any of the actions whatsoever of the hosts.
8.2 Routes for good shall not be liable for any and all damage, liability, loss, penalty, and interest accrued or incurred by a traveler as a result of a breach of these terms & conditions or during the trip or in connection therewith.
8.3 Notwithstanding anything contained in these terms & conditions to the contrary, Routes for good shall never be liable for loss of profits, loss of opportunities, and any consequential damages.
8.4 Routes for good shall not be considered to be in default or breach of these Terms & Conditions, and shall be excused from performance or liability for damages to the traveler, if and to the extent it shall be delayed in or prevented from performing or carrying out any of the provisions of these Terms & Conditions, arising out of or from any act, omission, or circumstance by or in consequence of any act of God, labor disturbance, sabotage, failure of contractors or suppliers of materials, act of the public enemy, war, invasion, insurrection, riot, fire, storm, flood, ice, earthquake, explosion, epidemic, pandemic, breakage or accident to machinery or equipment or any other cause or causes beyond such its reasonable control, including any curtailment, order, regulation, or restriction imposed by governmental, military or lawfully established civilian authorities, or by making of repairs necessitated by an emergency circumstance not limited to those listed above upon the property or equipment of the traveler or property or equipment of others which is deemed under the operational control of the traveler. A Force Majeure event does not include an act of negligence or Intentional Wrongdoing by a Party. Any Party claiming a Force Majeure event shall use reasonable diligence to remove the condition that prevents performance and shall not be entitled to suspend performance of its obligations in any greater scope or for any longer duration than is required by the Force Majeure event. Each Party shall use its best efforts to mitigate the effects of such Force Majeure event, remedy its inability to perform, and resume full performance of its obligations hereunder. A Party suffering a Force Majeure event (“Affected Party”) shall notify the other Party (“Non-Affected Party”) in writing (“Notice of Force Majeure Event”) as soon as reasonably practicable specifying the cause of the event, the scope of commitments under the Agreement affected by the event, and a good faith estimate of the time required to restore full performance. Except for those commitments identified in the Notice of Force Majeure Event, the Affected Party shall not be relieved of its responsibility to fully perform as to all other commitments in the Agreement. If the Force Majeure event continues for a period of more than 30 days from the date of the Notice of Force Majeure Event, the Non-Affected Party shall be entitled, at its sole discretion, to terminate the Agreement.
8.5 To the fullest extent permitted by law any condition or warranty which would otherwise be implied by law into these Terms & Conditions (Implied Warranty), is excluded, while the traveler expressly waives any claims against Routes for good arising out of or in connection with his/her participation in the trip.
8.6 Any claim formed by the traveler is excluded to the extent that it is for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits or economic loss, however it arises, or for indirect, special, punitive or exemplary damages.
9.1 Routes for Good processes personal data according to this Privacy Policy and in conformity with the applicable legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation EU 2016/679 (henceforth the “GDPR”) and the relevant data protection laws and regulations applicable in Greece.
9.2 Routes for Good is committed to keeping the personal information provided secure. To this effect it has implemented appropriate information security policies, rules, technical and organizational measures to protect the integrity, confidentiality, transparency, availability and accessibility of the personal information it has in its possession against unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, unauthorized modification, unlawful destruction or accidental loss.
9.3 The type of personal information to ask for will depend on which of the travel package with Routes for good the traveler books on. The basic identifiable information to ask includes name, address, date of birth, gender, email and contact details. Depending on the package, the traveler may be asked to provide additional information such as travel insurance, passport number and visa details or credit card details. Routes for good does not collect sensitive information such as details of race, political beliefs, religion or health. However, depending on the package to provide, Routes for good reserves its right to ask for some sensitive information, such as medical health evidence or access requirements for a disability etc.
9.4 Routes for good collects the traveler’s personal information by using written forms, booking forms and requests for further information, emails, through contact over the telephone, mobile or other messaging technology, via the internet, including websites and social media, and/or in person to person contact.
9.5 Routes for good is committed to collect, use and disclose personal information only to the extent it is necessary for any purpose associated with its operation, such as to identify the traveler and his/her travel needs, deliver effectively its services, promote, advertise and market such services as well as to comply with specific legal requirements.
In case of complaints about the trip, the group leader or the local representative shall be immediately notified in order to attempt to rectify the matter. If satisfaction is not reached through these means then any further complaint should be put in writing to Routes for good ([email protected]) within 30 days of the end of the tour.
11.1 The Agreement, including without limitation its conclusion, validity, construction, performance and settlement of the disputes, shall be governed by the law of the Hellenic Republic, without giving effect to the principles of conflict of law.
11.2 Any dispute arising from, or in connection with the Agreement shall be first settled through friendly negotiation by the Parties.
11.3 In case no settlement to disputes can be reached through amicable negotiation by both Parties, the disputes shall then be submitted to the competent Courts of Athens, Greece.
12.1 These Terms & Conditions, including all amendments thereto, represents the entire agreement between the Routes for good and the traveler relating to its subject matter and supersedes all prior representations, discussions, negotiations and agreements, whether written or oral. Routes for good reserves its right to amend the Terms & Conditions at its sole discretion.
12.2 Obligations and rights in connection with these Terms & Conditions, which by their nature would continue beyond the termination, cancellation or expiration of the agreement between the traveler and Routes for good, will survive their termination, cancellation, or expiration of such agreement.
12.3 No delay, omission, or failure to exercise any right or remedy hereunder by Routes for good shall be deemed to be a waiver thereof; nor shall any exercise of any right or remedy hereunder preclude any other or further exercise thereof or the exercise of any other right or remedy granted hereby or by law.
12.4 If any of the provisions contained in these Terms & Conditions are declared invalid, illegal or unenforceable in any respect under any applicable law, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions herein shall not in any way be affected or impaired.
